The world of chocolate is a vast experience. In a way, it is part of our globalized identity. It is within this globalized identity that Alegría- searched for a seed. A seed (cacao) that represented authentic connection to land and to be discovered beyond its limited interpretations as merely a sweet treat. Alegría was working on a reforestation project on the sacred mountain of Jaboncillo, Manabí when a fellow environmentalist introduced her to the world of cacao. Cacao took on a new meaning as a superfood.

Over the years, Alegría understood there was a world of medicine, tradition and evolution to be discovered in the Cacao seed - especially in Nacional Cacao known as "Fine Aroma" for its floral aromatics. This ancestral strain represents survival amongst hybrid cacao strains bred for mass production and not necessarily quality or nourishment. 

This journey to Cacao became synonymous with healing and connection to roots and identity for the founders- all women from the same province of Manabí, Ecuador. 

Melissa, was called in to connect to Cacao and its array of significance. Something felt right- when talking to Cacao families, visiting the farms and seeing out the vision for a Cacao renaissance. The taste was captivating- but the effects on the nervous system was something else. Melissa experienced greater focus and sustained energy throughout her day. Cacao replaced coffee mornings and inspiration was found to reach out to a childhood friend- Briana.

Briana stepped in, a woman of action. Her cacao journey has called in a soul tribe answering to wellness rituals of sound, cacao circles and other expressions of healing therapies. A reinvention of self has brought out many talents beyond her business background - she has learned to respect this plant medicine as a vital wellness ritual. Incorporating cacao into her everyday life has boosted her everyday workout sessions and brainstorming. A new source of health and inspiration has come into her life and is here to stay. 

Cacao has transformed the lives of all, and we wish to share this experience with you.
